The Arc of Harrisonburg and Rockingham

Through a variety of partnerships, The Arc of Harrisonburg and Rockingham provides community inclusion programs that assist individuals in developing the skills and building the relationships that allow them to become fully involved in their communities.  The agency also operates a lending library, offers educational programs to families and professionals, and assists individuals and families with information, referral, and advocacy services in a wide range of areas.  In partnership with the Department of Parks and Recreation, the agency offers Teen/Adult Canteens.  Parents Night Out is another offering, giving parents and caregivers the opportunity to take time to themselves, knowing that their loved one is in safe hands.  A bimonthly newsletter highlighting the accomplishments of individuals served by The Arc and providing information on local, regional, and statewide news reaches over 1,000 people.  The Arc of Harrisonburg and Rockingham is also actively involved in advocacy efforts aimed at improving the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
